Yes, the baby rumors are true! Tarek, Taylor, and I are thrilled to announce that we’re expanding our family! I’m just over 20 weeks pregnant, which I can tell you is nothing short of a miracle.
We’ve been through some really rough times these last couple of years with Tarek being diagnosed with thyroid cancer and undergoing radiation treatment. We weren’t sure if we’d ever be able to have another child. We both wanted to add to our family, so we were really hoping it would be possible. When Tarek was diagnosed, the doctors advised us not to get pregnant for six months to a year after his radiation, so we immediately made arrangements before his treatment started and tried IVF. The first time it didn’t work and the second time I miscarried at eight weeks, leaving us completely heartbroken. We decided to give it another shot around Christmas when I knew we didn’t have filming scheduled and could take time off work. This time I made sure I did everything the doctor told me, which meant lying in bed for an entire week and not doing any exercise or lifting anything heavy (including Taylor, which was so hard) for the following thirteen weeks.
But this time it worked! Our little baby boy is growing like crazy. I feel great and Tarek and Taylor are super excited. Tarek’s already making plans for our son to follow in his sister’s footsteps and join our real estate business when he’s a bit older. (Real estate is not optional in our family!)
Taylor has been just the cutest when communicating with her new baby brother. She tells my stomach all the time how much she loves him and asks, “Am I being a good big sister today?”
Tarek and I wanted to thank you all for your support and your words of encouragement over the last couple of years. It’s been a wild and wonderful journey so far, and we wanted to share our great news with you personally.
