Habitat for Humanity – 601 E 39th Street, Houston, Texas

Success Path partnered with Habitat for Humanity in Houston, Texas to help Debra Hamilton be more comfortable in her own home. The home was built in the 1940’s and is filled with lots of charm and character. However, due to its age, the house had severe foundational issues. The foundation problems have led to cracking sheet rock, uneven floors, and doors that could not be closed. The house also had pest and rodent problems and needed a new roof, but the homeowner lacked the appropriate funds to make her home safe again.

Success Path and Habitat worked with the homeowner to redesign the space to open the floorplan and eliminate the narrow halls and tight corners that made it difficult for her to navigate. When the project is completed, the newly renovated home will include a brand-new kitchen with handicap-accessible cabinetry, new countertops and a sink, and most importantly, a washer and dryer hook-up, which will help her maintain her independence.

Her bathroom will also be updated, with new plumbing installed throughout the house. The flooring, sheetrock, and paint will all replaced and made new again. With all these coming updates, the homeowner will soon be able to enjoy her safe and comfortable home on her brand-new porch.
